🌟 Today, let's introduce a relatively niche organization that has been recruiting nursing graduates since this year - 👉🏻 ORYGEN 👈🏻:
In Australia, there are two major adolescent intervention centres, Orygen and Headspace, which specialize in providing comprehensive mental health support for young people who have experienced mental illness, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, and those at high risk of developing mental illness. Their department includes the Research Division - Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention (EPPIC), a Melbourne Health subsidiary. For those interested in research, this could be a great networking platform. Many studies and materials in the field of youth mental health stem from ORYGEN.
Starting from 2025, Orygen has begun independently recruiting nursing graduates for a 2-year program.
Highlights:
🔸 Clinical supervision and a preceptorship program
🔹 Comprehensive academic and induction programs
◾️ 12 Study Days, not including orientation
▫️ Unique skills training structure
🔅 Collaboration with multiple universities; graduates can directly enrol after completing 800 hours of work
✅ Advantages:
🔺 NFP organization, offering more comprehensive salary packages
🔺 Strong support from a dedicated team, backed by robust research outcomes
🔺 A 2-year program with rotations through 4 departments
🔺 Easier transfer to Royal Melbourne Hospital if not satisfied with the department
👊 Challenges:
🔻 Working primarily with adolescents can be challenging.
🔻 Limited positions with fierce competition

🔸 Application Process: PMCV + online application (mid-May)
🔹 Information Session: Email inquiry required for specific details
